After you've rented your boat, try tossing your fish lines into the crystal clear water. The visibility is easily 35 or 40 feet down. However, you're going to experience the best fishing at a depth of 50 to 60 feet below the surface. Fish such as the very large Snapper fish and many others are seen in these waters all the time. Fort Myers Beach water is great for the intermediate fisherman to the more advanced professional alike.
Fort Myers Beach also has a fantastic pier to fish from. Some of the amenities of the pier include; lighting, tackle shop, ice, bait, public phone and and believe or not shelter from the rain. The pier is quite long giving you plenty of distance to catch the right fish over the water. If you do not fish, your in luck. There is metered parking which allow for more than enough time to take a stroll or get a bite to eat.
