The Calusa Blueway Paddling Festival
The Calusa Blueway Paddling Festival is in its fourth year now in Fort Myers Beach. The main event is paddle sports. Celebrate tremendous adventure down an 190-mile paddling trail. The trail takes place through mangrove shores the tidal creeks and white sandy beaches. Benefits from the festival are many. Several of Lee County’s finest sea front cities will be contributing. Communities such as: Fort Myers Beach, Fort Myers, Bonita Springs, Estero, Cape Coral, North Fort Myers and Alva.
The festival, which is open to tourists as well as residents, hordes a bevy of events. The events showcase a interesting resource, eco-tourism options. Some of the events included in the 10-day fiesta are: canoe/kayak regattas, a kayak fishing tournament, guided paddling trips, club picnics and outings, and archeological activities. There are also learning sites about “going green” etc.
